In this video, Dr. Shefali Miglani explains how your eye doctor measures myopia progression using certain techniques.
When it comes to your child’s myopia, their doctor worry’s about the stretching of their eyeball. The eyeball stretches way too much in proportion to their normal growth rate.
This is measured by creating a baseline of two measurements:
1. The prescription
2. The axial length
Once the baseline is measured, every 6 months it’s measured again to see what their growth pattern looks like.
